JRock fans from Poland
« on: June 05, 2011, 04:52:16 PM »
Does Poland have some massive jrock fandom or something? I was looking at Gackt's european dates on last.fm, and the polish one has like 200 users attending while the others have like 20. Or is it just that a lot of polish people use last.fm?

I'm quite sure that there are a lot of JRock fans in Poland, but also in Germany and in France. (probably more than 200)
And I wouldn't base my assumptions on how many people on last.fm are attending that show.

Besides, I made this topic here, because some B'z brothers from Poland just can't stop talking in Polish in other topics.

I think it's not bad thing if other users write here if they want to ask something ^^ I guess amount of fans in Germany, France and Poland are much more than 200, I don't own last.fm myself, yes many Polish people has last.fm account but it's not a site only for JRock fans only for everyone who listens to music, so big number of Polish among JRock fans could be interesting. And reasons for it are very various so it's hard to say why.

But I read a book written by one Japanese who has Korean origin and grew up in China (XD) (so he called himself as a citizen of all Asia) and when he heard that his book was going to be translated into Polish he wrote a preview which surprised me a lot, 'cause he wrote that Poland was the most interesting country for him, because it's the only country in Europe where he finds many similarities with Asian countries oO I don't know where this invisible "bound" comes from, but personally I wouldn't imagine my life without company of people interested in Japanese or other Asian countries' culture ^^" I know it doesn't explain anything but I just wanted to tell a story XDDD

I am innocent! I want a lawyer! I... damn, I _am_ one... xD (almost, bleh)

BTW, is there:
Here our B'z brothers from Poland can hack away in their native language  8)
a bit of irony or something, my green brother? :P

(...)the only country in Europe where he finds many similarities with Asian countries oO I don't know where this invisible "bound" comes from (...)

Well, it might be about how the society works here. In US and most countries of Europe what is most important is individual person; in Asia it's more about group-thinking, more the philosophy of communism (I don't mean the political sense of it). And in Poland (but in other post-sovietic countires too) you can still see that way of thinking. Of course it's because of the history, and not only the last 60+ years - I'd say the reason lays somewhere in 16xx. Well, at least it's what some wise-guy wrote in some article :P

EDIT:
Oh, it just came to my mind! "Tak" means "yes" in Poland (some ppl here already know that :P), and "Ja, ja" which means "yes" in Germany, in Poland sounds like "jaja" = "eggs" :P So when I say "yes yes" it's "Tak, Tak!", and when Arthuro says "yes, yes" it is "eggs!" XD
(Wurst joke, I know, but I couldn't help myself :P)

Well, I still find the number of users attending on the Poland gig here a bit weird when compared to other countries:
http://www.last.fm/music/GACKT/+events

Anyway, I agree Germany is THE jrock central of europe.

I know they are not. I haven't heard of them too. I haven't even heard them - I only saw their poster once, hangin' on my friend's drums set... And I really thought that "guy" is a girl :P By the way, I can bet that it's way more cruel for a boy to be mistaken for a girl than vice versa :P (and I know something about THAT)

EDIT:
@Arkard - I checked that link now. Primo, I think there are mostly 13+ years old girls going there. Secundo, "Stodoła" (the place where the whole fun will take place) means, erkhm... "barn".

EDIT2:
By the way, why everyone is talking english here? Arthuro, man soll hier einzig polnish sprechen, stimmt? :P

That is correct. It was going completely the wrong way. Split the topic, to avoid killing the discussion. Non polish posts will be deleted in the other thread from now on.

Ok, I admit I played Tokio Hotel on youtube last week, because I saw them nominated on Asian Music awards and I was wondering what "incredible" they made to be able to have this award... nothing special... plus this vocalist wears clothes like Lady Gaga XDD But before I haven't heard about them for years too, I'm surprised world didn't forget 'bout them oO

Anka "Tak" will mean "Tak Matsumoto" in every language and we have to deal with it ;) Btw, I had a talk with my sister and I said to her "Nie dokuczaj mi tak ><" ['Stop disturbing me ("tak" was used to mean something like "this way")'] and then she said to me "Ja nie jestem Tak!" ['I'm not Tak'] that was funny XDD

You know when I saw that this thread started (Danke schön Arthuro :*) I thought "it would be funny if now all topic was in English with no clear reason XD" but I didn't wish it came true I swear XD

shh, you can't speak polish HERE, Arthuro splited this topic... :P

Ekhem, going back to the topic - I hear sometimes that some people here like Miyavi or e... how were they called?... can't remember.. but the vocalist paint his face white and black and he is singing with very high voice. Unpleasant for me.
But no one I know knows B'z :/ But I'm waering big B'z sign on my backpack - once two Japanese saw that and they were really happy :D (I was standing back then, but my Auntie saw them grinning :D)
I'm trying to show B'z to my friends but they are somehow... not that enthusiastic... dunno why :/

B... but I added translation in brackets... don't beat me Dx

They're called Visual Kei and they used to look not sound ;) But I thought they are singing very low voice xP And they all sound the same I know it from my friend who is VK fan, but she also has acknowledge in every music style and she says it's kinda boring at this point XD Oh, and my sis was on Miyavi's concert. It was his first concert in Poland and she said that audience looked like 400 people. Let me tell some interesting things about his concert:
- Tickets were sold very quickly I heard even about preparing 700 more of them, but I don't think that many ppl attended concert
-  It has to be moved to a bigger place because of amount of fans
- Audience pushed Miyavi to play 2 more extra songs that weren't expected to be played on this concert at all. I haven't heard about such a situation in any other country
- After concert Miv wrote on his Twitter "Polish fans are crazy! And very loud"(positive) ^^

Ohhh, poor Anka :( When I showed B'z to my friend they all started to love it from the first... sight? XDD It's like... *counting* seven people :P Sorry!! I forgot about my maths teacher, my biggest trophy ^-^ Lol I rule, they say that B'z music is beautiful especially ballads they favourite songs are Calling, Itsuka mata koko de, Ring, Koigokoro and Eien no Tsubasa ^^

I want a B'z T-shirt too!... No, I want a B'z T-shirt related to our new website! :D

Haha, I'm not from Germany! But I think it's a statistical fact, that that country is the center point of jrock fans in europe.. they get stuff like Luna Sea etc. But after this topic I'm thinking it might be Poland instead lol!
