Question (nihongo knowledge needed)
« on: April 11, 2009, 11:18:30 PM »
"hitori kiri demo yarou" - this is from Surfin' 3000GTR.
"Even when I'm left by myself, I'll do it" - and this is translation from Keen's site.

BUT    (here comes the Question):

Can it be translated like: "Even if I'm cut off and left alone..." or "Even if I'm cut off to be lonely", "cut into loneliness" or something like that...  :D""

I mean - is the word KIRI a form from kiru - to cut? I need to translate it into polish, and - for some reasons - it would be great, if "hitori kiri" is something more than literal "being left alone".
Name: Anna; Country: Poland; Born: 1990 Oct 1; B'z fan since: beggining of 2006 (first song heard in 2003 - "It's Showtime").

No, it cannot be translated.as "Even if I'm cut off and left alone..." or "Even if I'm cut off to be lonely" or "cut into loneliness".
Because "hitori kiri" is a fixed expression which means "alone", "left by myself", or any other synonyms you can find.
It's as simple as that.
