B'z inviting world artists
« on: February 02, 2009, 12:54:13 PM »
Like anjoschka suggested, we open a topic about our ideas of collaborations between B'z and other artists from the world, and why not from Japan too.

Here what we said:

Pierro:
"Then, I dream of an oppening to the world. Like what Matsumoto did in his "Hit Parade" with Japanese female singers, but this time B'z with singers and musicians from the all world. An art of invitation. Of course there would be Aerosmith, but why not crasy combinations like B'z with Bjrk (she's always singing in Japan, why not with the biggest band of the country?) or Chris Martin from Coldplay? (I like the idea of Koshi and Martin singing together) (Coldplay played with SMAP, they can do better than that!)

Can you imagine some combinations?"

anjoschka:
"That sounds interessting.
Maybe we open a thread for that? :-)

Coldplay sounds good. I think about Maroon 5. Because after the cover of This Love i think they would do a good job together...
With Aerosmith they played together in Japan around 2002 (?).
Hm i dislike Bjrk. I can't listen to her music. For me it's too hm how could i say that: abstract
Bon Jovi could be great too.
Do you know the song Asian Sky from Steve Vai? Koshi sings and Tak play the guitar togehter with Steve. That was a great job. I love that song"

Pierro (now): Well, I admit I like very much Bjrk, and when I think of B'z with Bjrk, I don't think of her music, but of her voice. That's why I think more about singers than about bands playing with B'z. But, rock bands like Aerosmith are perfect with B'z. Yes, they played together in 2002, just before the football world cup final in Yokohama!

You're right about Steve Vai! They should invite him in return! He's a good friend of them: "Asian Sky", the induction in Los Angeles, he was there!

But, I don't see any limit, why not with jazz musicians, classical musicians? (Tak dit it solo) Music is the world language, why not with piano player Mitsuko Uchida?

Ahah crazy project! But dreaming is good!

What do you think? Who could play with B'z?

Thanks Lebon for moving the thread to discussion..

Oh Jazz and Classic musicians. That sounds good too. But i didn't know many of them. Hm i didn't know anybody :-) Maybe Vanessa Mae or David Garrett. Violins are great instruments. But a whole orchestra is great too. Like Tak to it... Maybe some songs in a Big Band version would be great too. But i didn't know names  ::)

Thanks for moving the thread. "B'z inviting the world" wasn't a news... not yet!

Why not B'z with some Chinese or Taiwanese artists? Like the mega star Wong Fei?

Why not. Lee Hom Wang maybe too.
I think a great idea would be when musicians from different genres join B'z.
For Example Exile and Glay sing a song together and it was great. Rock interfuse Rap/HipHop
I like those genre-jumpings  ;D

Why not inviting Power Metal bands such as Stratovarius, Sonata Arctica, Nightwish...  I think it would rock asses.

btw, Power Metal is the "Symphonic" version of the Metal tree.

Please not Exile ! No no no !  :o

But Glay is a good idea, and I think they are more or less friends.

I don't know power metal... What is that? But Matsumoto must know these things...

We said Steve Vai, and it would be very possible because they worked together, but I also think of giant guitarists: Ry Cooder or Doug Martsch from Built to Spill. It's maybe to big... but if it's an invitation...

And when I'm listening to rythms of "Suimayo" or "ultra soul", I think it would be an incredible experience with electro bands like the French Daft Punk or the genius Chemical Brothers!

Hm Power Metal?? Never ever. Thats really annoying in my opinion  :D

Daft Punkt sounds good too. :-)
But "Suimayo"? Maybe you guess Swimmer Yo!! ??

I think The Killers or bands like that...

And it would be great, if Yoshiki (X Japan), Gackt and B'z do a song together. Because.. Haha i write a FanFic about that

Hey Lebon, thanks for the links!

Swimmer yo! Yes! I had katakanas in my head and forgot it was the word swimmer...

Yoshiki, Gackt and B'z... I don't know, it sounds like a j-music fan's dream  :) but is it really possible?

My dream would be to see (and hear) Inaba with other singers. I already said Bjrk, but I also think of Beth Gibbons, the female singer of Portishead. It would be fantastic!!

Yeah, nothing is impossible.

I heard this week Led Zeppelin will never reunite again. Led Zeppelin is definitely over. But why not B'z with Robert Plant? I don't know, it would be the master with the disciple, Trampled Under Foot and Bad Communication. But why not!

Linkin Park... hmm without me...
