Top 10 B'z Ballads
« on: April 06, 2008, 01:56:22 PM »
May as well :P.

1. Itsuka no Merry Christmas
2. Gekkou
3. OCEAN
4. Mou Ichido Kiss Shittakatta
5. ALONE
6. Konya Tsuki Mieru no Oka ni
7. Kienai Niji
8. Happiness
9. ONE
10. Naite Naite Nakiyandara

I stretched with a few "ballads" on the list, but I mean, hey, they're at least "power ballads." I didn't include a number of favorites either, like Calling--even though it may technically be a "ballad" by definition, the song is just way too hard to be grouped with the others :P.

1 . Everlasting
2 . Itsuka no Merri Kurisumasu
3 . Kienai Niji
4 . Alone
5 . TIME
6 . OCEAN
7 . ROOTS
8 . Konya Tsuki no Mieru Oka ni
9 . Utsukushiki Sekai
10. Nightbird

I, too, had to stretch a few songs in here. Namely ROOTS and Nightbird. And, like Kaizou, if we included Calling it would easily be at least #5 on my list. but there's really only 2-ish minutes of actual ballad on the song.

Everlasting is the song that got me into B'z and I <3 the solo at the end. Tak's guitar literally sounds like it is weeping.

I forgot about TIME the first TIME  :'(. So I took out the n00b ballad Boku ni wa Kimi ga Iru.

1. Boku Ni Wa Kimi Ga Iru from Action
2. Koubou from Action
3. Raging River from Eleven
4. Guitar Wa Naiteiru from Break Through
5. Alone from Alone/In The Life

I don't have 10 favourites.

First off, the concept of a true B'z fan not being able to select 10 ballads that they enjoy is pure ludacrisy. I know for a fact that I had a hell of a time selecting 10 out of the 30+ ballads from B'z.

Second, I know, from prior chat, that you do have other Ballads that you like. Namely Ring and Mou Ichido Kisushitakatta. the latter is more of a power ballad but nonetheless it has the word ballad in it.

Thirdly, how is Raging River any more of a ballad than Mienai Chikara? Raging River has more than 4 solid minutes of hard rock music. I would definitely classify it as a ROCK song.

Just some input.

Here's my current list.
1. Calling

5. Itsuka no Merry Christmas
6. Eien no Tsubasa
7. Everlasting

I wouldn't classify Mienai Chikara as a ballad.. it's an awesome song though, one of my favs. Same thing for Ring, I guess.

I'm too lazy to list, but a few select choices:

- Snow: B'z never did anything like this again and it is completely awesome. The piano, the lyrics, the ending, Tak's guitar in the end, Koshi's unique singing. So good. Also, pretty much every other track on Friends II, amazing and overlooked album.

- Kirei Na Ai Jya Nakutemo: Wish they would do something like this again.

- Boku Ni Wa Kimi Ga Iru: Probably their best ballad of the last decade

- Raging River: Well, it's both a ballad and a rocking epic.. definitely unique, definitely great. Would like to see B'z do more "progressive" stuff like this.

- Home (e version especially): Classic stuff.

- Lady Navigation 7th blues: Awesome.

Anyway, could easily mention more and more.. B'z has loads of good ballads. Heck, my all time top 10 from B'z would probably be more ballads than rockers!
